Temporomandibular disorder may involve pain and discomfort in the temporomandibular joint, as well as muscles in the face and neck. Headaches are often associated with TMD. Symptoms of minor isolated cases may be relieved with over-the-counter pain relievers. Obstructive sleep apnea is characterized by recurrent episodes of partial or complete airway obstruction during sleep.
